WHAT IS THE ONE THING THAT YOU DO, THAT HELPS YOU BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE?
For me it’s meditation. Meditation changed my life more than 15 years ago by teaching me how to become more in control of my mind, how to change my thoughts and to find silence in my head.
Meditation taught me a lot and brought me on an amazing journey full of wonderful experiences. But mainly what mediation did is that it saved me. It saved me from myself, from my own thoughts, my own fears. It does not mean that I don’t experience fear, stress or worries or negative emotions anymore, but they don’t have much power over me. They do not affect me as they used to. I can be aware of them without identifying with them. I can notice them and stop them. Or I can leave them alone while I live my life. But the best of it is that my mind is so much more peaceful! That alone is worth gold!
Meditation changed my life because it changed the inside of me. It changed how I experience and respond to life. Life still has it’s moments of pain, joy, problems, ups and downs. But how I react to them is totally different now. I went from being someone very anxious and very stressed, to someone that knew how to relax, how to be happy and I learnt how to live.
I still practice daily, once every morning and sometimes before going to bed. It keeps me grounded, centred. It keeps my mind quiet and gives me clarity and vision for the rest of my day.
I have a pretty healthy lifestyle in general. I eat healthily, do not drink alcohol, exercise regularly but meditating just aligns everything together.
Really it keeps me sane in a crazy fast paced world!
