WHAT IS THE ONE THING THAT YOU DO, THAT HELPS YOU BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE?
The one thing that I’d say that I do that helps me be the best I can be is living a healthy, fulfilling and compassionate lifestyle. It inspires me to help others who are wanting to be the best they can be as well and gives me purpose. I was a former collegiate track and field sprinter, a dancer and musician. I enjoyed participating in so many activities but didn’t find my true passion. I was introduced to the vegan lifestyle in 2016 and that’s when I found my true passion for wellness. It drove me to help share my journey and inspire others to make the switch to live a healthier and more compassionate lifestyle.
Growing up, health and nutrition was very important in my household. I always felt like I was pretty healthy myself until I discovered the truth. There is still a disconnect in the treatment and knowledge that is now more accessible about animal agriculture. I watched my first documentary Cowspiracy in 2016 and that completely altered my view on the environmental, health and how we treat animals in this society. It led me to watch several more documentaries, listening to lectures by Dr. Neal Bernard and other experts, reading articles and books on the subject. This sparked my drive to share this knowledge and help change other people’s lives for the better.
I became consistent in working out, eating healthier, sharing my story, and inspiring others to change. They say that best way to lead is to lead by example. This new lifestyle pushed me to break myths about vegans not being able to build muscle or stay healthy. I completed in my first bodybuilding competition in June of this year and scored top 5. I am health and fitness coach, and entrepreneur and vegan athlete. I stand by living a lifestyle full of compassion and health for it is our greatest gifts.
