5 THINGS I’VE LEARNT IN MY LIFE SO FAR
Always trust your instincts and intuition.
Twice I’ve gone against it and twice I had to shovel a lot more shit to get out of the hole
Only trust others to be themselves.
I’m talking about the people you’ve known for some time. You’ve picked up their actions to highs, their actions to lows and their staying power for both. Trust them to be themselves but nothing more. Trust no part of a stranger.
Do good deeds just because.
Might sound selfish but they make me feel good for doing them. You don’t have to go on Facebook or Twitter with a video of you doing it either. That’s an attention seeking fake bitch move.
The measurement of a man is the connection between his words and his actions.
Being self reliant and able to look after oneself is standard. To be able to look after others is also standard. The stand out guy is the stand up guy, he never says something he doesn’t do and that makes his words almost as potent as his actions.
So Be It.
Once you have done everything within your power to see something through, you’ve fulfilled your end of the bargain. For all the other “what if” factors that are out of your control and out of your hands: So Be It. If there ain’t something you can physically do to change any outcome then there’s no point worrying about the outcome. What will be, will be. The Universe, God, whatever form you choose to section the unseen power as they’ve got it from there. If it turns out bad So Be It. Usually if you’ve done your bit and you know within yourself you left nothing swept under the carpet then the rest will take care of itself.
David ‘Hydra’ Kyriacou is a complete inspiration, and a true gentleman. Being the 2017 Breakthrough Martial Artist of the Year as voted for at the British Martial Arts Awards, David has taken an immense talent and with hard work and real life experiences, translated that into helping people to take charge of themselves, protect themselves in the real world, and thrive. We admire and respect him for what he offers to the everyday person, his humbleness, and his drive to continue to be the best he can be.
He is a true prophet, a man who seeks for you to have the best, by being the best you can be. We love his wisdom, and the way he shares it so freely.
A true leader in a time of the world being leaderless, a true inspiration in the world of fake people, a real life warrior.
Having “done” martial arts as a youth, I always knew there was more. It never ceased to amaze me all the people who were “black belts”, but in the street, just couldn’t cut it. That is what I love about Hydra – he trains you to “be” the weapon, to be able to survive in the street, with real life training, real life awareness, and real life.
And if I were you, when someone asks you what you want for your birthday / Christmas or whatever, the best gift you can give yourself, is training with this legend.
